No one wants to wake up in the morning feeling mentally or physically unwell. Add in misplaced keys, a long commute, or a little road rage and you arrive at work in a peachy mood. You are constantly confronted by the pressures of people and projects at home and on the job. Sometimes it’s amazing how you make it through each day.
Some of us are frothing for our caffeine from the minute our feet hit the floor. Why do we need this fix? We feel we need a jumpstart or maybe a well-deserved reward before we even start our day. And why shouldn’t we pamper ourselves from time to time? Balance is vital for a productive life.
Imagine how much more productive you could be with the support of an effective health and wellness program. You might still have to battle your way through traffic or have dinner with your in-laws, but you won’t be starting with the same disadvantages as before.
A good employer knows about the importance of helping employees find a healthy balance between home and work. The UCLA Healthcare Wellness Initiative is an employee wellness program that started in 2004.
