Patients with burns should get more nutrients

Patients with burns must obtain additional nutrients to boost the immune system of the body, says nutritionist from the Department of Nutritional Sciences Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia, dr. Inge Permadhi, Ms. SpGK,
“Patients with burns should get calorie intake by 50 to 60 percent of each consumer,” Inge said after the seminar about the burns on Saturday.
According to Inge, calories must be met not only activity but also for the healing of wounds. In addition, patients should also consume burns side dish vegetable and animal, because this type of fat is useful to supplement and complement the body’s need for nutrients.
“The protein consumed should also be in a portion of a lot, because it is used to regenerate the body,” says Inge.
Egg whites, milk, and fatty fish are good source of protein for tissue regeneration and repair of the lesion.
“Besides the consumption of nuts is also very good, because there arginine content in peanuts,” said Inge.
Arginine is an amino acid that works to help open up the blood vessels so that the nutrients can be channeled properly.
